Meet the Principal

Nicholas de Koning, P.Eng - Principal

Nick graduated from Western University where he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Civil-Structural Engineering as well as a Technological Entrepreneurship Certificate.  Nick has spent his entire career specialized in Structural Engineering and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Additionally, Nick graduated from the Ontario Real Estate College and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker. Raised in Muskoka, Nick’s local relationships, knowledge and experience are an asset to every project.  When not working he enjoys the many outdoor seasonal activities Muskoka has to offer.

Meet the Admin Team

  • Administrative Director

    Mikaela grew up on a farm in Moonstone, Ontario. After high school she studied traditional goldsmithing and graduated from the Jewellery Essentials Program at George Brown College in Toronto. She then continued her education at Georgian College of Applied Arts to complete a dual major in Jewellery Metals & Design and Business & Entrepreneurship.

    After graduating she started her own business - Relle Jewellery and also worked as a law clerk before moving back to Bracebridge, Ontario. In her spare time, she can be found forging jewellery at her home studio, practicing yoga, or exploring with friends and family.

  • Admin Coordinator

    Born and raised in Barrie, Ontario, Nicole graduated from Georgian College with a diploma in Business Administration - Human Resources. With a natural talent for organization and a passion for helping others, she brings both efficiency and warmth to her role as Administrative Coordinator.
    As the first point of contact at the office, Nicole ensures that every interaction is friendly and professional. She assists with daily operations, manages inquiries and phone calls, and connects clients with the right engineers to support their projects. Her approachable nature and commitment to excellent service make her an essential part of the team.

    Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her partner exploring Muskoka’s trails and breweries. An avid reader and coffee enthusiast, she’s rarely seen without a black coffee in hand.

  • Nick was very receptive when I first called him about our project and agreed to take us on as clients even though they were in a very busy period. He did not let us down! He assigned one of his very knowledgeable employees to work with us. Within a few days, Mason provided us with a first draft of the design, and continued to support us during the subsequent revisions and the construction, helpfully suggesting alternatives to simplify our build. Nick was always available to finalize, approve and seal drawings and reports when they were needed to meet our deadlines. His admin staff were also wonderful! Great experience!!!
