Administrative Director & Commissioner for Taking Oaths (Ontario)

Mikaela serves as the Administrative Director at de Koning Group, where she leads and oversees all administrative operations, internal coordination, and procedural compliance across the firm. As the director, she plays a pivotal role in organizational management, workflow optimization, client communications, and documentation integrity, ensuring projects move efficiently from initiation through municipal submission and approval.
Raised on a farm in Moonstone, Ontario, Mikaela developed a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset early in life. After high school, she pursued traditional goldsmithing and graduated from the Jewellery Essentials Program at George Brown College in Toronto. She further advanced her education at Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology, earning a dual major in Jewellery Metals & Design and Business & Entrepreneurship; a combination that refined both her creative precision and operational acumen.
Following graduation, Mikaela launched her own successful business, Relle Jewellery, while also gaining valuable legal experience working as a law clerk. Her background in business ownership and legal administration provides de Koning Group with a unique advantage in document management, regulatory processes, and client service.
In addition to her leadership role, Mikaela is a Commissioner for Taking Oaths in Ontario, authorized to administer oaths, affirmations, and statutory declarations. This credential allows de Koning Group to streamline sworn documentation required for planning applications, permitting, and regulatory submissions, further enhancing the firm’s integrated service offering.

Outside of the office, Mikaela can be found forging jewellery in her home studio, practicing yoga, and exploring Muskoka with friends and family - a balance of creativity, discipline, and community connection that reflects her professional approach.

Admin Coordinator

Born and raised in Barrie, Ontario, Nicole graduated from Georgian College with a diploma in Business Administration - Human Resources. With a natural talent for organization and a passion for helping others, she brings both efficiency and warmth to her role as Administrative Coordinator.
As the first point of contact at the office, Nicole ensures that every interaction is friendly and professional. She assists with daily operations, manages inquiries and phone calls, and connects clients with the right engineers to support their projects. Her approachable nature and commitment to excellent service make her an essential part of the team.

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her partner exploring Muskoka’s trails and breweries. An avid reader and coffee enthusiast, she’s rarely seen without a black coffee in hand.

Admin Assistant

Raised in the heart of Muskoka, Leah comes from a family of entrepreneurs who inspired her drive and passion for business from an early age. Rather than taking the traditional post-secondary route, she jumped straight into the workforce to gain hands-on experience, building her career through real-world learning and a strong work ethic.

Leah is known for her enthusiastic attitude and natural ability to connect with everyone she meets. Whether she’s working with clients, supporting her team, or embracing new challenges, she brings positivity and energy to everything she does.
